Three Miles Maximum for VA Defined Annex

The VA National Cemetery Administration in their October 10, 2024 NCA Directive 3001, clarified that land for a cemetery expansion must not be farther away than 3 miles.

“Cemetery Annex: A special category of non-contiguous cemetery expansion that, while not contiguous, is a logical extension of an existing cemetery that is not physically separated from the existing cemetery by a distance greater than 3 miles. It uses the same name and station number and is not counted separately in the official count of NCA national cemeteries.”
